The Salvation Army Raises Vital Funds for North Texans with Annual Red Kettle Campaign
Donations help the region’s largest social services provider respond to the rise in need year-round
2022 Red Kettle Campaign Supported by $50,000 Donation from Energy Transfer
With Christmas around the corner, The Salvation Army’s 132nd annual Red Kettle Campaign is in full swing across North Texas.
The largest and longest-running fundraiser of its kind, The Red Kettle Campaign is especially needed this year to help The Salvation Army meet a new generation of need. Thousands of North Texans are facing greater hardship than ever before with the impacts of inflation, rising evictions, and lingering effects of the pandemic. Our most vulnerable neighbors are living in survival mode and having to make tough choices on how to stretch their already tight household budgets.
This holiday season, The Salvation Army of North Texas is urging North Texans to join in on showing that love exists beyond the most difficult situations.
To support the Red Kettle Campaign, North Texans can donate cash, coins, and checks at Red Kettles stationed outside storefronts across Dallas, Rockwall, Tarrant and Ellis, and Denton and Collin counties. Donations can additionally be made online at VirtualRedKettleNTX.org.
The Salvation Army is also encouraging North Texans to register to bell ring at a local Red Kettle by visiting registertoring.com or hosting their own Virtual Red Kettle as an individual or with a group.
Gifts stay in the community in which they were given to reach our most vulnerable neighbors. The Salvation Army of North Texas’ 2022 Red Kettle campaign is sponsored by Energy Transfer, which presented The Salvation Army with a $50,000 donation in support of the community-specific services provided year-round wherever and whenever need exists.
“We have been a longtime supporter of the incredible work of The Salvation Army," said Chris Curia, Executive Vice president and Chief Human Resources Office for Energy Transfer. “Our employees are committed to supporting Salvation Army campaigns such as the Red Kettle and Angel Tree campaigns along with its lifesaving disaster relief efforts. We continue to be inspired by the difference they make in the lives of families around the world.”
As the region’s largest provider of social services, The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to respond to increasing requests for assistance in every pocket of North Texas. Each week, The Salvation Army of North Texas feeds 10,000 people through its 12 food pantries, treats 500 people through its three recovery programs, and houses 1,300 people through its six shelters and senior living centers.
With the help of generous contributions during the holiday season, The Salvation Army can continue providing transformational services that meet immediate and long-term needs for North Texans combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness.
“Nearly half of our annual raised revenue comes between October and December, so donations made at Red Kettles are critical to helping provide transformational services in every pocket of North Texas,” said Major Paul McFarland, area commander of The Salvation Army of North Texas. “We are grateful for the generous support of our donors and partners whose support enables us to provide services year-round that are needed now more than ever.”
