our mission

The Dallas Women's Auxiliary is the local expression of a world-wide movement that seeks spiritual redemption and social rehabilitation of those it serves. It functions as a fundraising and volunteer service group and has many projects and programs that can satisfy an eagerness to volunteer. All members and volunteers are passionate and dedicated to serve others.

Get Involved

There are many committees that can help you find your passion and fuel it through projects throughout the year. Areas of opportunity include:

  • Focus on children and families when we fill backpacks with school supplies, stuff small gifts in our Christmas Santa Sacks, or serve a meal to women and children who are victims of domestic violence or staying in the homeless shelter

  • Support sobriety and provide cupcakes to men celebrating monthly milestones in recovery

  • Embark on the spirit of Christmas and volunteer at the NorthPark Angel Tree, help with gift distribution at The Salvation Army Christmas and Disaster Center, or ring a bell at an iconic Red Kettle

  • Take inventory and sort donated couture clothing and accessories for the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon or volunteer at the Fashion Show After Sale

All of these projects make a difference while having fun and fellowship with others who value your time and support.

A Note from the Current President

Dear Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Members,

Thirty-five years ago, 29 visionary women answered a call to serve, launching The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary with hearts full of faith and purpose. Since then, generations of Auxiliary members have carried that mission forward through dedicated service and fundraising, helping thousands of North Texans facing poverty, homelessness, addiction, and hardship find hope, healing, and a path toward a brighter future.

As we begin a new year together, I am honored to share our theme: "Let Your Light Shine," inspired by Matthew 5:16:

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

This powerful verse reminds us that our actions can be a beacon of hope. Through every act of service, we reflect God's love and illuminate the lives of those around us.

How do we let our light shine? We shine when we raise funds that make life-changing programs possible. We shine when we serve meals, celebrate milestones of sobriety, sort donated clothing, fill backpacks for students, pray for those who are struggling, and ring the Red Kettles during the Christmas season. We shine when we offer kindness, encouragement, and compassion to those who need it most.

Each of these moments may seem small on its own, but together they create something incredible. Every generous act strengthens our community, transforms lives, and brings glory to God. The light we share reaches farther than we may ever know.

It is a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated and caring group of women. Your commitment, compassion, and servant leadership inspire me every day. Thank you for the countless ways you give of yourselves so faithfully. And thank you for letting your light shine so brightly!

With gratitude,

Shannon Graham
2026-2027 Auxiliary President
