Give With Joy: The Salvation Army Launches Holiday Fundraising and Programming

Oct 23, 2025 | by The Salvation Army

This holiday season, The Salvation Army of North Texas is launching its Give With Joy campaign, urging generous North Texans to support neighbors combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness amidst continuously high requests for assistance. During the season of giving, the region’s largest social services provider relies on community support – through volunteerism and monetary donations –to sustain necessary programs and services that meet immediate need throughout North Texas into 2026.

In 2024, The Salvation Army of North Texas raised more than $1.5 million through its iconic Red Kettles, exceeding its annual goal. This year, the region’s largest social services provider has ambitions to increase its fundraising goal to $1.6 million.

The money raised through the Red Kettle campaign allows The Salvation Army to provide both immediate and long-term services that meet urgent physical needs of food and shelter, while encouraging stability and self-sufficiency through comprehensive case management. Last year, The Salvation Army of North Texas distributed nearly 4 million pounds of food to over 80,000 people in need through its food pantries, shelters, and community meals, delivered more than 264,000 nights of safe shelter, provided addiction recovery services to around 500 individuals, and connected nearly 1,600 individuals to permanent and stable housing.

“Known widely as the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, the holiday season can be stressful financially and emotionally for so many,” Major Rob Webb, area commander for The Salvation Army of North Texas, said.

“We rely greatly on community generosity to meet the needs our most vulnerable neighbors are facing not only during the holidays, but year-round. We invite North Texans to embrace our Give With Joy campaign; a simple act of kindness goes a long way during the season of giving.”

The Salvation Army of North Texas’ Angel Tree program is the organization’s largest program in the world. This holiday season, North Texans can make a direct impact in their immediate community by adopting an Angel near where they live or work; Angels are available to adopt by county. Through the Angel Tree program, North Texans can help provide gifts to tens of thousands of local children, seniors, and adults with special needs.

The Salvation Army is offering a variety of opportunities for North Texans to give a gift that alleviates the monetary burden of the holidays — and lasts into next year. There are many ways to get involved this season:

  • Donate in-person or online — all dollars stay within the community in which they are given
  • Participate in Angel Tree to ensure that children, seniors, and special needs adults feel the joy of Christmas morning
    • Adopt an angel at participating locations in-person or online starting November 3
    • Drop off gifts at drive-thru locations on December 5 - 6
  • Register to bell ring at a Red Kettle near you or start a Virtual Red Kettle
    • Openings are available as an individual or with a group
  • Sign up to volunteer at a facility in your community, helping distribute groceries, serve meals, staff youth programs, create hygiene kits, and more

Nearly half of The Salvation Army’s annual raised revenue comes between October and December, and the funds raised during the holiday season are vital to sustaining operations and programs in six counties in North Texas. With a footprint across 4,000 square miles, The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to meet local needs with tailored programs in every pocket of North Texas, which is only made possible by community support.
